Consultations
In the initial consultation, Amanda begins by assessing your whole person: your emotional state, lifestyle, environment and diet – while noting any underlying symptoms or causes for disease – along with compiling a detailed medical history. Simple tests such as physical exams or blood pressure readings may be conducted.
After diagnosis, Amanda will advise and develop a course of treatment. An individual nutritional management plan may prescribed, including a diet of nutritious foods (one wants to eat), along with herbal medicines selected and combined to meet the specific individual needs of each patient. These can be in the form of liquid medicine, tea, tablets, capsules, powders, lotions and creams.
Amanda is trained to formulate treatments that work alongside your doctor’s prescriptions so that any herbal medicines will not interaction with other medications. She will carefully advise on which prescriptions can be combined with those from your doctor.

Fees are payable in full at time of consultation.
phone consultation and home visits
Professional policy allows Amanda to give herbal recommendations over the phone to long distance patients. Home visits within 15 miles of Ojai carry no additional fees.
cancellation policy
Missed appointments or those cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are subject to full charge.
informed consent policy
An informed consent agreement is reviewed and signed by clients at the first appointment in accordance with the professional policy of the American Herbalists Guild, committed to excellence in clinical Botanical Medicine and Herbal Education.
